Letters: Trump’s approval of Gianforte’s assault on reporter a “juvenile” show

Trump’s pep rally on Thursday evening in Missoula appeared to provide a great night of entertainment for the folks who attended. I applaud the citizens’ right to attend and enjoy the president’s crazy antics.

However, watching fellow citizens cheer, applaud, and laugh when the president of the United States encourages and supports the uncivilized behavior of a local politician toward a reporter is shameful for so many reasons.

Do you think our country is worthy of the juvenile behavior of the current president? If so, continue encouraging him by your applause and appreciation. If not, show it by withholding your positive reactions.

Just maybe our entire political system could improve if it were led by the man at the top to a more civil and respectful discourse.
