On the first business day of the New Year, four new members of the Missoula City Council raised their right hand and took the oath of office. It was the first story we reported on in January – a month that saw political tensions linger in Washington, D.C., and community activists take to the downtown streets by the thousands to make their opinions known.

Through it all, Missoula continued its evolution, one that can hardly be measured in a month. But the wheels of our growing city continue to turn, and each small story adds to the larger narrative.
