Two top Democrats will join Montana congressional hopeful Rob Quist on the campaign trail over the coming days, including Sens. Bernie Sanders and Jon Tester, with one event planned in Missoula.

In recent days, Republican hopeful Greg Gianforte has also drawn some top names to stump for his campaign, including Donald Trump Jr. and Vice President Mike Pence, though none of his events were held in Missoula.

Sanders, a recent Democratic candidate for president who rallied in Missoula in May of last year, will join Quist – a political newcomer – in rallies planned for Missoula, Butte, Billings and Bozeman.

Tester will also join Quist at several rallies planned elsewhere in the state, though none are slated for Missoula.

"I'm excited to have Bernie Sanders come to Big Sky Country to witness the grassroots support behind our campaign and share the message that we need more elected leaders fighting for working class families, instead of millionaires, corporations and special interests," Quist said in a press release.

Sanders won Montana's 2016 Democratic presidential primary vote, defeating Hillary Clinton with a populist message Quist is looking to tap into ahead of this month's special election.

"Montanans across party lines are excited like never before because they know I'll be an independent voice who will protect our public lands, fight for working families and work for affordable health care for all Montanans," Quist said.

Sanders will join Quist at The Wilma on Saturday, May 20, from 11 a.m. to noon. Those interested in attending can RSVP by texting BERNIE to 30644, or by going to http://robquist.org/bernie
