Montana congressional candidate Greg Gianforte landed another endorsement on Tuesday, this time from the political action committee representing the National Federation of Independent Business.

The NFIB, which claims to be the nation’s leading representative of small business owners, cited the Republican’s commitment to issues dear to small business owners.

Gianforte is a member of the organization.

“As someone who started multiple successful small businesses, he understands the challenges facing owners and entrepreneurs,” said Sharon Sussin, national political director for the NFIB. “He wants to go to Washington to get rid of obstacles like high taxes, red tape and costly health insurance.”

Earlier this week, Gianforte also received the endorsement of the Billings Gazette, the Helena Independent Record and the Missoulian. All three newspapers cited Gianforte’s business experience.

Gianforte, founder of RightNow Technologies, accepted the NFIB’s endorsement in a press release issued Tuesday.

“I know what it takes to build businesses and create jobs because I’ve done it my whole life,” Gianforte said. “We need to peel back regulations and lower taxes to make it easier for our Montana small businesses to thrive.”

Gianforte’s endorsement comes from the NFIB FedPAC, the organization’s political action committee.

Montana congressional candidate Rob Quist, a Democrat, also has received endorsements from the Montana AFL-CIO, the Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the Montana Sportsman’s Alliance, among others.

The two candidates will face off next week in Montana’s special election.
