With little notice, a popular Missoula restaurant late Wednesday announced on social media that it will be closing its doors on Thursday.

“Missoula! Thursday is the LAST, Last call at The Old Post,” the business stated. “Come say farewell and cheers us one last time!”

No other reason was stated for the closure, which generated a long list of comments on social media.

The building housing The Old Post and Worden's Market, located on the corner of Higgins and Spruce Street, were placed on the real estate market in May for the asking price of $3.9 million.

They are listed by Jesse Eagen of Eagen Real Estate. Both properties are owned by Tim France, who has owned and operated Worden's since 1981.

The Missoula Current will follow up on this story.
