The Missoula Downtown Foundation named Christine Littig to its board of directors this week, an appointment that comes as the organization updates the district's wayfinding system and raises funds to replace the Caras Park canopy.

Littig has spent the past 25 years working in the food service industry as a manager, chef-owner and owner of several restaurants, including the Old Post Pub, the Red Bird and Berniceʼs Bakery.

“We're thrilled that Christine has chosen to commit her time and energy to the foundation,” said Anne Guest, president of the Downtown Foundation board. “She has so much enthusiasm for downtown and will be a strong advocate for our initiatives to enhance our city center.”

The Missoula Downtown Foundation was formed in 2010 to support Missoula through enhancement of its downtown district, lobbying for its commerce, heritage, culture and living.

Current fundraising priorities include fabrication and installation of the information kiosks as part of the city’s wayfinding system, raising funds to replace the Caras Park pavilion canopy, and updating the Downtown Master Plan.

Littig previously served on the finance committee for the Montana Community Development Corporation and worked to improve Montana's liquor license laws. She served as president of the Missoula Downtown Association in 1997.

She currently serves on the advisory committee for the Missoula College Culinary Arts Program and recently sat on the board of directors for the Blue Mountain Clinic and the capital campaign to #raisetheroof.
