Ennis business owner Tammy Haas of My Home in Montana has been awarded Retailer of the Year at the 2017 Made in Montana Tradeshow for Food & Gifts reception.

Haas opened her store in May 2014 after she and her husband moved to Ennis to retire.

“I still needed something to keep me busy,” Haas said. “Since I’ve also been producing items for many years, I knew how important it was to have a location that supports locally-produced goods. The Made in Montana logo draws tourists to our store which has become an economic driver for Ennis.”

Haas’ store supports more than 80 Made in Montana vendors. Her strategy is simple: make customers’ experience easy and fun.

“Tammy works to maintain a positive and inviting relationship with each vendor and works to display each of our Made in Montana products in a way that highlights our work in the most positive light,” said Judy Siler of Mud 'n Suds Pottery, Soap & Rustic Designs in Clancy.

“Her store is a wonderful mixture of artists, but arranges it to allow each of us to stand out in our own way.  She is easy to work with and understands the nuances with a handmade item.”

My Home in Montana expanded in 2016, and Haas plans to expand again this year.
