(KPAX) After years of planning and construction, Missoula library directors are setting the grand opening for the new facility for mid-summer.

The new library has been taking shape ever since voters overwhelmingly approved the $30 million, 20 year bond package in November 2016.

Dick Anderson Construction and its subcontractors have been busy this winter finishing up the exterior and working on the interior features. Library leaders announced the grand ppening date will be held on July 15th.

And directors were told Wednesday evening the project is right on target.

"We have a full schedule of events that will run through seven o'clock in the evening. And the Grand Opening Committee consist of the partners with the public library, the Library Board of Trustees and friends of the public library." said Missoula Public library board chair, Barabra Berens.

The ribbon cutting will be at 10:30 that morning of July 15th.

"We are just so incredibly excited that we will be completed on time on budget," Berens said. "And the public will be so thrilled to see our new public library"
