Last night at the Kettlehouse Amphitheatre, during the Amos Lee concert, the opener Madison Cunningham got my attention. An amazing voice and writer.

One of the unexpected joys of going to concerts these days is hearing new talent opening for the headliner. Recently, there has been a number; Julia Jacklin, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Caamp, and most recently, Madison Cunningham.

Listening from a distance to her sound check, I knew we were in for something special. Cunningham's voice penetrates the air with a knowing about life that few singer-song writers accomplish.

Her lyrics are perfectly matched to her voice. Something deeply moving to this old soul from a 22 year old performer. I suspect we will be hearing more from Cunningham. She is a talent the music world needs.
